Developing a story/character

My story fits into Phil baker's "The debt that must be repaid" template focusing on two amateur criminals who are going to a diamond trade in order to get of the hook with a unseen "boss" after unknowns to them, robbing a store under his ownership.The boss makes them a deal that they are to take a bag full of diamonds to trade taking place in a secluded forest. However the boss wants to keep the diamonds as well as the cash so without telling the amateur goons, sends one of his people there to to ambush the deal. The men go to the deal, extremely nervous and as they go to trade the diamonds for the cash the goon is shot by a sniper, all hell breaks loose as the two men try desperately to keep hold of the bag with the money with it as not to disappoint the boss. They find them selves being hunted in the woods until one of them escapes with the money bag only to be killed by the boss at the end.
